Ali Hoegel is from Yorktown, Virginia. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She continued her passion for physical therapy by attending Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Ali completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014 with Honors. During her education at Emory, Ali completed advanced courses in sports rehabilitation, extremities, and Pilates. Currently, she is planning to become a Sports Certified Specialist to further her knowledge in sport specific injuries.

Ali grew up playing field hockey and taking dance classes. Sports have played a heavy role in her life, driving a passion to work with athletes of all ages. Ali has used her dancing knowledge to treat professional performers on the road in National tours and local dancers from the community in the clinic. She performed self-treatment and injury prevention workshops, in addition to one on one treatment, in shows such as RENT 20th Anniversary, Wicked, Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, and Flashdance.

Ali also explored a special interest in the practice of Pilates in conjunction with physical therapy. She is Balanced Body Mat 1 certified. Ali believes Pilates plays a major role in rehabilitating athletes as well as patients who experience low back pain and SI joint dysfunction.

When not treating patients, Ali enjoys taking dance classes, going to new restaurants around the Atlanta area, and participating in outdoor activities with her husband, Phil, and their dog, Keller. Ali loves watching and cheering for the Atlanta Falcons and the James Madison Dukes.
