Help Beat that Holiday Stress with Exercise

Help Beat that Holiday Stress with Exercise

We all know that though the holidays are meant to be a happy time, they can also involve higher stress situations.

When it comes to good health, physical activity matters. Exercise and physical activity improve overall fitness, body mass index, and cardiovascular and muscular health. Studies even show exercise can relieve stress, reduce depression and improve cognitive function. People who engage in sedentary activities to manage stress are less likely to say the technique is effective at reducing stress as those that engage in physical activity to manage stress.

Virtually any form of exercise, from aerobics to yoga, can act as a stress reliever. If you’re not an athlete or even if you’re out of shape, you can still make a little exercise go a long way toward stress management.

The team at Atlanta Sport and Spine Physical Therapy is here to help. You can set up an appointment for a session with a skilled physical therapist who can help you address your health needs. As the year draws to a close, we know many of you have met your deductible, and your session may be covered with no out of pocket costs. If therapy is not on your mind, we also offer Pilates and Suspension Training classes.
