Bio

A native of Newnan, GA, Jake graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Education (Exercise and Sport Science) from the University of Georgia. He continued to pursue a career in physical therapy, graduating with a doctorate of Physical Therapy from Georgia State University in 2022. Throughout his schooling, Jake gained experience in a variety of settings and patient populations including inpatient, outpatient, sports rehab, occupational health, wound care, skilled nursing facility, and acute care.

While still in school, Jake completed his final clinical rotation here at Atlanta Sport and Spine and is excited to continue his career here in the field of outpatient orthopedics. Jake has experience working with patients of all ages in a variety of clinical areas including sports-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal injuries, balance/gait impairments including the use of prostheses, and vestibular rehab. Jake’s clinical areas of interest include sport-specific rehab; rehabilitation, assessment, and performance enhancement of golfers; assessment and injury management of overhead throwing athletes; injury mitigation and rehabilitation in adolescents; conservative and post-operative rehabilitation of the hip, knee, ankle, and foot; and total joint replacements.

Jake takes on an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment with a strong emphasis on therapeutic exercise, core stability, functional movement training, and patient education. He will be pursuing his Dry Needling Certification as well as his Level 1 and 2 Titleist Performance Institute Certifications to expand his knowledge and further develop his skillset in the area of rehabilitation, assessment, and performance enhancement of golfers.

In his personal time, Jake enjoys spending time with family, relaxing at the beach, playing golf with his friends, and coaching baseball as a volunteer at NYO. He also enjoys rooting on his favorite Atlanta sports teams and alma mater team, the Georgia Bulldogs.
