Bio

Tamera was born in England and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. She ran track and cross-country growing up, which, after gaining firsthand experience, ultimately sparked her interest in the field of physical therapy. In 2022, she graduated from the University of Georgia with her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and minor in General Business. Then she moved to Atlanta and attended Georgia State University to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

During her clinical rotations, she gained experience in outpatient orthopedic, outpatient neuro, sports rehab, long-term acute care, wound care, vestibular rehab, and more. In her final year of PT school, Tamera completed a rotation at Atlanta Sport and Spine and is thrilled to get to continue her career here. She enjoyed outpatient orthopedics because she was able to see patients make progress, feel better, and maintain their achievements.

Tamera has experience working with all ages in many areas, including a variety of orthopedic sports-related injuries, neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s Disease, post-operative care and joint replacements, conservative management of injuries, balance and gait deficits, and vestibular conditions. Tamera’s clinical interests include injury prevention and rehabilitation in runners and endurance athletes, sports-specific rehabilitation in adolescents, conservative and post-operative rehabilitation, treatment of balance and gait impairments, and treatment of vestibular conditions.

Tamera has a strong background in biomechanical research from her time in school, including knee joint loading and mechanics post-operatively. She has a passion for the rehabilitation of runners and plans to pursue her Level 1 and 2 Running Analysis Certifications in order to better serve her patients. Tamera places an emphasis on functional training, evidence-based practice, individualized care, and is always looking to expand her skillset and knowledge base.

In her time outside of work, Tamera loves to find a trail to run on, explore Atlanta restaurants with her fiancé, and spend time with family and friends. She loves to paint and create, spend time in Augusta, travel to new places, and cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs!
